Om een schrijven met rectificaties te
beginnen is nooit leuk, ook al ben je geen professionele en taalkundig onderlegde
onderzoeksjournalist, laat staan een medisch specialist. Het niet hebben van deze
kwalificaties, in combinatie met de tijdsdruk die door mijzelf wordt opgelegd, kan met
zich meebrengen dat er af en toe een schoonheidsfout(je) sluipt in mijn werk, maar het
geschetste portret blijft duidelijk en zegt genoeg.
Kanaries in de mijn krijgen het nu eenmaal
snel benauwd en doen dienst als vroegtijdig alarm.
De naam 'een kanarie in uw mijn' is gericht
aan de mensen die geen enkele vorm van tegenstand bieden aan de veelkoppige en gerichte
aanvallen op onze vrijheid, gezondheid en ons sociaal-economische klimaat.
Als 'kanarie in de mijn' maak je aan je
omgeving duidelijk dat de 'mijn' waarin de mensheid wordt geduwd verstikkend en bovendien
niet de jouwe is.
De tijd dat de mensen massaal de straat op
gingen om 'aan de bel te trekken' is reeds lang voorbij. Maar ondanks de mateloze inzet
van aspartaam en E621, ondanks de verheerlijking van geweld, porno, glamour en
trivialiteiten op tv, Internet en in de 'Game' industrie en ondanks de intensivering van
de 'ratrace' die er voor zorgt dat veel mensen geen tijd en energie meer hebben voor
betere bezigheden, is de 'Staatsmijn Nederland B.V.' nog immer voorzien van vele
'kanaries' die allen, van verschillende pluimage en van groot tot klein, op eigen manier
hun steentje bijdragen door alarm te slaan. En een van hen ben ik.
Nu de rectificaties. In tegenstelling tot
wat door mij is gesuggereerd, zijn de Spaanse Griep van 1918 en longpest twee
verschillende ziekten. Mijn excuses hiervoor. Deze fout doet echter geen afbreuk aan het
geschiedkundige feit dat werd gemeld in de betreffende zin, noch aan de strekking van de
rest van het artikel. Toegegeven, de medische databank in mijn hoofd heeft het even laten
afweten op dat gebied. Een toch al chronische hoofdpijn, oververmoeidheid, extreem
slaaptekort en de tijdsdruk zijn er debet aan geweest dat dit niet even door mij is
nagecheckt. Er zijn dan altijd mensen die zeggen: 'Kill the messenger, he made a mistake'!
Een ander zegt: 'Maar hij heeft een duidelijke boodschap, laten we daar naar luisteren.
Ieder zijn keus.
De volgende rectificatie betreft het geval
'Joseph Moshe' en heeft me ertoe bewogen om een gedegen onderzoek te doen naar de
achtergronden van dit gebeuren, waarvan hieronder een uitgebreide update die begint als
